Distributors can dodge today’s constant disruptions

Disruptions keep threatening supply chains, and distributors are trying to further reinforce the resilience of their networks, costs and operations.

"Transportation costs have become one of the most volatile components of the supply chain," said Grant Thornton Business Consulting Managing Director Brad Hulbert. "Between fuel price fluctuations, capacity constraints and labor shortages, companies are under a lot of pressure to keep costs under control while still meeting service expectations. Hulbert joined a panel of Grant Thornton specialists in discussing the opportunities and challenges presented by tariffs, taxes, labor, technology and other issues:

  • Russell Norris — Head of Transportation & Distribution Industry, Principal, Tax Service, Grant Thornton Advisors LLC
  • Jonathan Eaton — Principal, Business Consulting, Grant Thornton Advisors LLC
