Firm recognized for technology-driven early career recruiting
CHICAGO — Grant Thornton, one of America’s largest brands of professionals providing end-to-end audit, assurance, tax and advisory services, has received the Technology Excellence Award by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) for its innovative use of technology in early career recruiting and internship programs.
The award recognizes employers that leverage technology to enhance the effectiveness, consistency and scalability of their early talent programs. Grant Thornton was selected for its thoughtful, technology-driven approach to the national internship onboarding experience, leveraging Intrepid to centralize information and create a more cohesive, engaging journey for interns across the firm.
“As the expectations of early career professionals continue to evolve, technology enables us to meet them with consistency, transparency and purpose, while still delivering a human‑centered experience that reflects who we are as a firm,” said Jeanna Shapiro, Grant Thornton’s chief people & culture officer.
Grant Thornton’s internship program is designed to scale nationally while maintaining a consistent experience for participants, regardless of location or practice. Through its use of technology, the firm provides interns with a centralized platform for learning, connection and communication, supporting both professional development and a strong sense of community.
“This award reflects the intentional way we use technology to support early career talent at scale,” said Missy Heusinger, Grant Thornton’s director of university recruiting. “By streamlining onboarding, programming and day‑to‑day engagement, we’re able to create a more seamless experience for interns and the teams who support them. One that’s consistent, engaging and focused on connection.”
This recognition underscores Grant Thornton’s commitment to building a modern, technology-enabled early career experience that supports both talent development and firmwide consistency, while preparing interns for long-term success.
