Grant Thornton earns Brandon Hall Group recognition for learning and development initiatives

CHICAGO — Grant Thornton, one of America’s largest brands of professionals providing end-to-end audit, assurance, tax and advisory services, has received two Brandon Hall Group™ HCM Excellence Awards® in recognition of its innovative learning and development programs, including:

  • Silver Award - Best Custom Content: For Grant Thornton’s self-paced online course Introduction to Private Equity, which equips professionals with critical knowledge of the private equity space. The course is part of Grant Thornton’s award-winning digital badging program and, along with dozens of other custom courses, has become a model for upskilling and career development.
  • Bronze Award - Best Use of Blended Learning: For the firm’s Advisory Jumpstart Program, which combines in-person, live virtual and on-demand learning to empower new associates with the skills, confidence and connections needed to succeed. This comprehensive journey enables new campus hire associates to be staffed on engagements quickly and proficiently.

“These awards affirm our belief that continuous learning is essential to both individual success and firmwide growth,” said Wendy Wright, head of global learning and organizational effectiveness at Grant Thornton. “They reflect our commitment to innovative learning and talent development, and we’re proud to be recognized alongside leading organizations in human capital management. Our team’s dedication, collaboration and hard work make these achievements possible, and together we’re empowering our people to reach their full potential.”

Jeanna Shapiro, Grant Thornton’s chief people & culture officer, emphasized that the firm’s recent recognition reflects its broader commitment to investing in its people. Recently, the firm announced a $1 billion investment in AI and advanced technology to equip professionals with the tools to work smarter and faster. The Brandon Hall awards underscore how that same focus extends to learning and development — ensuring people have the skills and resources they need to succeed.

“Innovation is at the core of how we approach talent development at Grant Thornton,” said Shapiro. “We are constantly exploring new ways to upskill and support our people—helping them grow professionally while enabling them to deliver innovative solutions to our clients. By investing in impactful learning programs, we strengthen both our workforce and our ability to deliver exceptional value to our clients.”

The 2025 Brandon Hall Group™ HCM Excellence Awards® recognize best practices across multiple categories. Honorees were evaluated by a panel of veteran independent industry experts and Brandon Hall Group analysts based on criteria including alignment to business needs, program design and delivery, user adoption and experience, innovation and overall effectiveness and measurable impact.
