Grant Thornton’s David Kraynick named one of South Florida Business Journal’s “40 Under 40”

MIAMI — David Kraynick, partner of audit services at Grant Thornton LLP and principal at Grant Thornton Advisors LLC, has been named a “40 Under 40” honoree by the South Florida Business Journal. This list recognizes talented individuals in the area under the age of 40 who have made an impact in their fields, companies and communities.

As Audit partner, Kraynick serves both large SEC accelerated filers and small to mid-sized private company audits with domestic and international operations. He also leads Grant Thornton’s Transportation and Distribution industry group for South Florida.

Scott Mager, Grant Thornton’s market managing principal for Florida, praised Kraynick’s leadership and commitment to excellence.

“I’ve watched David rise from associate to partner at Grant Thornton—an impressive journey and an inspiration to others across the firm,” said Mager. “He’s built strong, trusted client relationships through exceptional service and insight, and I’m confident he’ll continue delivering outstanding value to clients across South Florida.”

Beyond his client work, Kraynick is deeply involved in community initiatives and leads the firm’s recruitment efforts at Florida State University (FSU), his alma mater, frequently speaking to introductory accounting classes and dedicating time each semester to engage with students and faculty. He has also served as team captain for Grant Thornton’s Dolphin Cancer Challenge team for four years, raising funds for cancer research in partnership with the Miami Dolphins Foundation. Additionally, Kraynick co-chairs a charity golf tournament supporting the same organization.

“I’m honored to be recognized among such an inspiring group of leaders,” said Kraynick. “This award reflects the mentors who’ve guided me, the colleagues who’ve supported and challenged me, the clients who’ve trusted me and the incredible teams I’ve had the privilege to grow with.”

Kraynick earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance, followed by a master’s degree in accounting from FSU.
