MIAMI — Grant Thornton, one of America’s largest brands for audit, assurance, tax, and advisory services, is celebrating a new award win. Becky Linnett, an Audit partner in the firm’s Miami office, has been named a ”40 Under 40” honoree by the South Florida Business Journal. This prestigious list recognizes talented individuals under the age of 40 who have made an impact in their fields, companies and communities.
In addition to her Audit role, Linnett leads the Real Estate & Construction industry group in South Florida, providing high-quality, personalized services to a wide variety of clients in those industries. These dual roles represent the latest chapter in a burgeoning career on both sides of the Atlantic.
Linnett began her career at Grant Thornton U.K. and moved to the U.S. permanently following a secondment in California. There, she managed relationships with major clients across Southern California and the Bay Area. After developing a stellar reputation for client service, she earned an opportunity to move to South Florida and serve one of the firm’s largest asset management clients. Linnett quickly rose to the position of Audit growth leader for the South Florida asset management practice, and she was named a partner at the age of 34.
According to Scott Mager, Grant Thornton’s market managing principal for South Florida, Linnett’s exceptional client service has fueled growth in Miami and across the country.
“It’s been inspiring to see Becky consistently grow in her career, and the authentic connections she builds with our clients are exactly what’s needed in an industry like real estate,” said Mager. “She’s always seeking new ways to add value and get even closer to our clients, and with her on our team, I know we’ll continue providing distinctive value to organizations throughout South Florida.”
Outside of her client work, Linnett leads the South Florida Working Parents & Allies Business Resource Group, through which she helps plan and lead programming that promotes a strong work-life balance. She is also an active member of the local business community. For instance, she serves as Grant Thornton’s liaison to the Mortgage Banking Association, and she leads the South Florida chapter of Chartered Accountants Worldwide (CAW). Linnett also participates in events and programming hosted by the British American Business Council, supporting her fellow U.K. professionals in South Florida.
"Being selected among so many talented, local professionals is an incredible honor," said Linnett. "This recognition motivates me to do even more for my clients and teammates, who are the most talented people in the professional services industry. I'm looking forward to making an even greater impact in my adopted community here in South Florida."
Linnett’s recognition follows another recent accolade for Grant Thornton’s South Florida offices: Yaury Jattin, a principal in Corporate Tax Solutions, was named to the South Florida Business Journal’s Diverse Voices list.
