Grant Thornton’s Melanie Krygier named one of the Most Influential Women in Business by the San Francisco Business Times

SAN FRANCISCO — Melanie Krygier, the Private Equity Tax leader for Grant Thornton LLP, has been named one of San Francisco’s “Most Influential Women in Business.” The annual awards, presented by the San Francisco Business Times, recognize women leaders who have a significant impact on both their organizations and the Bay Area business community. This year’s honorees will be celebrated at an event on Tuesday, Oct. 3 and profiled in a print issue by the publication.

“Melanie is a proven leader who has the deep tax knowledge that private equity investors and their portfolio companies need now more than ever, and just as important, she develops genuine relationships with her clients and our talented colleagues,” said Tony Perazzo, Grant Thornton’s West region managing partner. “Because of leaders like Melanie, our firm is able to provide outstanding results and personalized service throughout the Bay Area.”

Krygier joined Grant Thornton in 2013, and in total, she has 17 years of experience serving public and private companies across multiple industries, with a focus on the technology industry. For the majority of her career, she has focused on consulting in mergers and acquisitions. Specifically, she and her team conduct buy-side and sell-side tax due diligence, as well as tax structuring and modeling for clients that are contemplating potential sales, investments or restructuring.

Rimma Tabakh, Grant Thornton’s market managing partner in San Francisco – and a 2022 recipient of the same award – says she is consistently inspired by Melanie’s ability to know both her clients and her teammates on a deeper level than they might expect.

“Melanie is instrumental to the ongoing growth of our firm and our business in the Bay Area,” Tabakh said. “In addition to using her wealth of knowledge and experience to help clients manage complex challenges, Melanie sets a kind, personable tone at the top. When she’s leading a project, our teams know their well-being will always be a priority.”
