Cheryl B. Caldwell

Cheryl Caldwell is the Managing Director of Grant Thornton's Assurance Risk Management practice. Caldwell analyzes root causes for restatements, and develops and teaches applicable training directed at remediating the identified root causes. In addition to the Assurance Risk Management group, she is part of the Audit Training and Knowledge Resources group.

With 19 years of experience in public accounting, Caldwell has served as a Professional Standards partner and as the assistant national professional practice director for the Central region. Her responsibilities have included assisting the Central region offices with quality assurance, including compliance with firm policy and professional standards, and providing technical support. She has overseen the training for the Dallas and Kansas City offices, which included developing and presenting some of the training programs. Caldwell’s experience also includes conducting audits and assessing internal controls of development stage, private and public entities. She has assisted companies with IPOs and private equity and debt offerings.

Caldwell assists clients in numerous industries including not-for-profit, consumer and industrial products, energy, technology, and health care. In addition, she assists international clients by reviewing financial statements for compliance with U.S. GAAP and reviewing SEC filings for compliance with reporting issues.
