Derrick McGrow

Derrick is a partner in Grant Thornton’s audit practice who works exclusively in the healthcare industry.

Derrick has over 15 years of auditing experience and four years of experience in private industry which includes SEC reporting.  He has worked on the audits of large to medium sized health systems, universities, continuing care retirement communities and has spent significant time working recently with clients participating in value-based care risk sharing arrangements. His current client base consists primarily of for-profit healthcare providers, many of which are private-equity owned. Derrick has worked with these clients through various recapitalization, sale, and complex equity and debt transactions.  He has also provided services related to PCAOB audit uplift for clients preparing for public offering.

Derrick also has extensive knowledge of Uniform Guidance compliance audits related to Student Financial Aid, COVID Relief Funds and FEMA, among others.  

Derrick has led various CPE presentations over Uniform Guidance and various accounting and auditing topics both internally with Grant Thornton and through external professional organizations.
