David Head

David serves as Head of Banking Industry.  In his role,  he brings the full capabilities of Grant Thornton to all banking and financial institution clients, convenes subject matter specialists on key banking trends,  manages the portfolio of banking clients across the U.S., and aligns the industry across the 14 countries in Grant Thornton’s multinational, multidisciplinary platform.

David has over 25 years’ experience in professional services and banking. Throughout his career, he managed business units, led talent acquisition, engaged employees in key strategies to drive growth, strengthened customer relationships and drove leadership development and diversity efforts. Since joining Grant Thornton in 2014, he has been a catalyst in the Charlotte market, serving as a relationship leader for many of the firm’s largest strategic banking and other industry clients and has led growth efforts across the southeast region. He is a leader for Grant Thornton’s employee resource groups and a board member for several prominent community organizations.

Prior to Grant Thornton, he served ten years as an executive in the Consumer Bank of Bank of America. He led national teams in a variety of roles including as the National Customer Experience Executive, a Consumer Customer Segment Executive, Chief of Staff to the President of Small Business Banking and national Staffing Executive for multiple business units. In his Consumer Bank roles, David’s teams led the strategy for sales processes, product campaigns, service levels, resource plans and pricing. In his HR roles, he led recruitment and talent deployment to fill all internal and external role placements as he sat on the leadership team of multiple business unit presidents.

Early in his career, David joined Accenture for a decade where he was a Process Design Consultant and a Senior Recruiting Manager.  He led talent acquisition efforts regionally and was on the core team to launch a new Technology Services business entity.
