Matthew Rodriguez

Executive summary

Matt has more than thirteen years of public accounting experience serving the real estate and financial services industries. Matt has worked with private and public companies during his employment at Grant Thornton including public and private REITs within the mortgage, healthcare, residential, retail and office sectors along with private equity funds, multi-strategy hedge funds, fund of funds, and venture capital funds. Matt has been involved in the performance of financial statement audits, examination and review of securities offerings and internal controls audits. Matt is a member of Grant Thornton’s internal financial services training group. As such, he is responsible for internal staff training on specific industries, various audit methodologies and new regulations. Lastly, Matt is an active member of the firm’s investment fund audit playbook team where he helps identify key risks and best practices related to nonissuer investment fund audits.
