John Batt
Executive summary
John leads Grant Thornton’s Metro New York practice – overseeing teams across New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. He focuses on strengthening key client relationships, elevating the firm’s market presence, and driving continued growth across audit, tax, and advisory services. John also serves as the Key Relationship Partner for some of our largest financial services and private equity clients.
John brings more than 25 years of experience advising private equity, financial services, and professional services organizations across operations, marketing, product development, and sales. Prior to joining Grant Thornton, John was a member of the private equity team at a Big 4 firm and, earlier in his career, served as the chief marketing and strategy officer and then regional practice leader of the Southeast and Northeast regions for a publicly traded financial publishing firm.
Community involvement
John is deeply engaged in the community, serving as a founding board member of Compass Pro Bono and previously as a publicly elected member of his local board of education. He also supports the missions of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the American Cancer Society
