Brian Pomis is a SALT partner in Grant Thornton’s Chicago office. He oversees corporate income and franchise tax compliance and consulting projects, performs reverse sales and use-tax audits, provides nexus reviews, and manages voluntary disclosure services.
Pomis also represents clients before state and local tax agencies for the purpose of defending or negotiating audit settlements, develops planning ideas for the purpose of tax minimization, and identifies state and local tax credit opportunities and oversees the completion of these projects. Pomis also assisted in developing Grant Thornton’s RAR software, which allows for the filing of state amended returns resulting from a federal audit in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
