Ahmed Tantawy

Ahmed is a Partner with Grant Thornton’s risk advisory practice in San Jose, CA serving the Greater Bay Area with focus on technology, life science, CIP and manufacturing clients. Ahmed leads the Internal Audit practice in the Greater Bay Area, and he co-leads the Tax Controls Advisory (TCA) practice nationally. He has over 25 years of combined public and industry experience.

Ahmed started his career in public accounting at Andersen. He has extensive experience in  Financial Audit, Internal Audit, SOX 404 and SOX readiness, FCPA and Fraud investigations, which includes working for fortune 500 companies. Ahmed works with many international clients and manages teams globally.

In addition, Ahmed has experience with various IT systems, including NetSuite, SAP, Oracle and other platforms. Ahmed held various leadership positions at American Standard, Safeway, and Xylem Inc. At Xylem Inc., a multi-billion global water technology company, Ahmed served as the Global Director of Internal Audit, where among his duties, managed the company’s global SOX program, and with teams reporting into him in Asia, Europe and the US.
