Executive summary
Ryan is a Partner in Grant Thornton’s Southern California tax practice. He helps lead the West Region’s partnership taxation solution group and is representative of the firm’s national Partnership Transaction Advisory Group (PTAG).
Ryan has more than twelve years of experience focusing primarily on partnership and limited liability company tax compliance and consulting matters. He consults on technical issues affecting partnerships, such as mergers, disguised sales, acquisitions, dispositions, and other partnership formation and liquidation events. Ryan also has extensive knowledge dealing with partnership capital account maintenance rules, their impact on tax allocations, and treatment of partnership liabilities.
Prior to rejoining the Southern California tax practice, Ryan spent two years at Grant Thornton’s Washington National Tax Office from June of 2018 to June 2020. There he served as a partnership technical expert supporting Grant Thornton offices across the nation.
During his career, Ryan has gained a multitude of experience serving private equity, as well as portfolio operating companies in a variety of industries. A few include education, technology, real estate, and professional services.
