Michael Parsons (Tax Partner) serves as Grant Thornton's West Region Marketplace Leader for the R&D Tax Credit Services Group. His responsibilities as the West Region Leader include hands-on execution and relationship building with key clients, development and delivery of Grant Thornton's R&D services, creating and providing thought leadership for internal and external publications and coordination of global resources. 

 

For over 20 years, Michael has been working with an exciting list of public and private companies - from small and medium enterprises to global Fortune 50 companies. Michael is a technical subject matter specialist in Federal and State R&D tax credits (including a long-standing history in IRS/State controversy work) with broad technology experience in media and entertainment, green energy, food science, aerospace, automotive, manufacturing, engineering, software and hardware industries. Prior to joining Grant Thornton, he worked at both Deloitte (15 years) and Ernst and Young (5 years) in their Global R&D tax credit practices.
