Bryan Merrigan

Executive summary

Bryan Merrigan is Grant Thornton’s MetroPark, New Jersey office managing partner. Merrigan has nearly 20 years of experience in public accounting, providing audit and advisory services to a variety of industries, including professional services, technology, manufacturing and not-for-profit. He has significant experience with IPOs, mergers and acquisitions, debt offerings and other complex business transactions. He also has significant experience in dealing with technical issues, including revenue recognition, stock-based compensation and complex equity transactions.

Merrigan’s acumen also includes a two-year rotation in Grant Thornton’s national Professional Standards Group where he specialized in SEC reporting and regulatory matters, providing consultative services to audit engagement teams throughout the firm. While in that role, he guided teams through the registration statement process, which included IPOs, mergers and acquisitions and public and private debt offerings.

Merrigan is passionate about people, culture and growing the firm. He has served on a number of committees and task forces during his tenure at Grant Thornton, including the Grant Thornton International Ltd’s global professional services’ steering committee, ASC 606 Implementation Task Force and is a mentor for Grant Thornton’s Senior Manager Academy, a career development program designed to prepare senior managers pursuing the path to partner or principal. He also has developed and delivered numerous trainings locally and nationally throughout the firm on accounting, auditing and SEC-related matters. Most recently, Merrigan was named to the NJBIZ 2020 Accounting Power 50 list of leaders who are counted upon to provide sound guidance on every facet of an organization’s operations.
