Kathleen is a Partner with over 18 years of public accounting experience and is responsible for the oversight of the firm’s Employee Benefit Plan Practice. Kathleen has extensive employee benefit plan audit experience, including audits of defined contribution, defined benefit, health & welfare plans. She is an employee benefit plan specialist with primary responsibility for the overall relationship and direction of audit services provided to the employee benefit plan clients of the firm. Kathleen has extensive experience in dealing with reporting and disclosure issues related to benefit plans. This audit specialty area requires a specified base of knowledge that is not typically found in professionals who specialize in corporate audits and reporting. Her knowledge base and years of experience allow her to effectively and efficiently oversee the execution of an audit while providing meaningful recommendations upon completion of the work. Her goal is to obtain first-hand knowledge of the plan and the provider while continuously improving the audit process. She has significant experience and success in transitioning new clients.

Kathleen is actively involved with the ongoing process of updating Grant Thornton’s employee benefit plan audit methodology, tools and practice aids, and serves as a program leader and developer for the firm’s nationally developed employee benefit plan training programs. Kathleen is a speaker at various industry events and panels regarding the latest industry topics and is a presenter at the AICPA National Conference on Employee Benefit Plans
