Grant Thornton’s Tony Perazzo named to new leadership council for NACD Northern California

SAN FRANCISCO — Tony Perazzo, a longtime leader with Grant Thornton LLP, has been appointed to a new leadership council for NACD Northern California. The council is a group of nine local business leaders who will analyze the critical issues facing corporate boards in Northern California and release a series of reports offering their guidance. As such, Perazzo and his council colleagues will play a key role in shaping the future of corporate governance within the area’s board director community.

Perazzo, the managing partner of Grant Thornton’s West region, says he is eager to collaborate with professionals from a variety of industries.

“Our council has an in-depth understanding of our region’s industries, which mirrors the work we’re doing at Grant Thornton,” Perazzo said. “By leading with comprehensive industry knowledge, we’re able to dissect the trends and challenges facing boards and companies — and help them create paths toward greater success.”

Perazzo has served Grant Thornton in a succession of leadership roles since joining the firm in 2002. Prior to his current role, he was the firm’s Audit Practice leader for the Greater Bay Area and the managing partner for the firm’s offices in San Francisco and Silicon Valley. All told, he has three decades of experience serving companies in industries like technology, manufacturing, consumer products and much more. Perazzo is also deeply entrenched in the Bay Area’s philanthropic community, having served as a board member for Junior Achievement of Northern California since 2019, as well as Mid-Peninsula Boys and Girls Club until its merger in 2023.

"We are delighted to form the NACD Northern California Leadership Council with such an experienced and thoughtful group of individuals from organizations that have made a commitment to lead in corporate governance," said Claudia Fan Munce, NACD Northern California's board chair. "Bringing these leaders together to discuss the issues facing board directors will be a wonderful opportunity to ensure directors are prepared for what will face them in the upcoming years.”

A lifelong Bay Area resident, Perazzo earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of San Francisco.
