Grant Thornton’s Nichole Jordan named to the 2023 NACD Directorship 100

CHICAGO — Nichole Jordan, the national managing partner of Geography for Grant Thornton LLP, has been recognized as one of the most influential leaders in corporate governance. The National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) has named Jordan to the prestigious Directorship 100™, an annual list of leading corporate directors and governance advocates. IJordan was also named to the Directorship 100 in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022.

In her roles at Grant Thornton, Jordan is responsible for coordinating firmwide strategy execution in markets throughout the country and driving consistent results related to growth, talent engagement and culture. Further, she helps lead Grant Thornton’s governance strategies, including the firm’s partnership with the NACD. She is highly active within the NACD’s Dallas chapter, and she co-leads a Grant Thornton program that connects soon-to-be-retired partners with board roles — then supports, trains and equips these future board members for long-term success.

“Cultivating effective boards and governance strategies has been a passion of mine for a long time, and I’m incredibly grateful the NACD has recognized me on their 2023 Directorship 100 list,” said Jordan. “I believe strong and inclusive directorship makes a profound difference for organizations and their people, and I’m looking forward to continuing my work with the NACD and many other organizations as we help boards and leaders drive even greater results.”

Jordan, who also serves as the managing partner of Grant Thornton’s Texoma region, is a longtime board member and NACD-certified Director and Governance Fellow. She is a member of the Private Directors Association and the leadership board of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Center for Capital Markets. Most recently, Jordan was appointed to the Naveen Jindal School’s Institute for Excellence in Corporate Governance at the University of Texas at Dallas.

The 2023 NACD Directorship 100 recognizes leaders in several categories, including audit and risk professionals, board advisors, governance advisors, attorneys, regulators and more. Jordan and her fellow honorees will be recognized at the upcoming 2023 Directorship 100 Awards Gala in New York City on December 13, in addition to being featured in NACD Directorship magazine’s annual list of The Most Influential People in Boardrooms and Corporate Governance.

“Exemplifying board leadership is a top priority for our organization, and this year's peer-nominated Directorship 100 honorees demonstrate their excellence in governance,” said NACD president and CEO Peter Gleason. “The accomplishments and integrity of this year’s director honorees are inspiring, and we look forward to celebrating these individuals at our annual gala in New York.”
