CHICAGO — Rashada Whitehead, Grant Thornton’s national managing director of Culture, Immersion and Inclusion, was named one of Consulting Magazine’s Global Leaders in Consulting. The award, which recognizes outstanding leadership qualities, capabilities and extraordinary influence, honored Whitehead for her “Excellence in DEI Programming.”
Under Whitehead’s leadership, Grant Thornton is building a distinctive, people-focused culture — one with a strong emphasis on diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I). She joined Grant Thornton in 2019 and has since held several leadership roles in its People & Community group. For example, she led Grant Thornton’s DE&I task force and served as its head of Colleague Experience. She also established Grant Thornton’s annual DE&I reporting process, which spotlights the firm’s strides in diversity representation and promotion rate, as well as its expanded DE&I training programs and external partnerships.
“Rashada’s leadership has been instrumental in Grant Thornton’s efforts to embrace diversity and invest in programs that create a healthy and progressive organizational culture,” said Seth Siegel, CEO at Grant Thornton. “This award represents an important milestone that honors a continued commitment to instill DE&I within our organization and anchor it in our culture and values.”
An award-winning adjunct professor at Roosevelt University in Chicago and former PRWeek “40 Under 40” honoree, Whitehead began her career in public relations before becoming a culture transformation executive. She has managed global communications for Fortune 500 companies and served as CEO of two businesses: a national public relations firm and a reputation management and culture transformation firm. She has also provided culture insights and coaching through the University of Chicago Graham School of Continuing Liberal and Professional Studies.
