NEW YORK — Andrée Bourgon has joined Grant Thornton LLP as a managing director, overseeing the firm’s Growth Strategy practice for the Insurance sector. In this role, she will lead Grant Thornton’s efforts to help insurance clients shape strategic priorities and execute innovation-based enterprise transformation.
Bourgon has more than 20 years of insurance-sector experience, where she has focused primarily on operational strategy, mergers and acquisitions and business transformation. Most recently, she served as vice president for global strategy for Ascot, a property and casualty commercial specialty insurance startup.
Matt Tierney, global Insurance practice leader for Grant Thornton, said, “Andrée brings a wealth of experience from previous leadership roles, at both startups and large organizations – uniquely positioning her to help advance strategy and transformation efforts for our clients and expand the capabilities of our Insurance practice.”
Previously, Bourgon held several roles at American International Group, where she led several global strategic initiatives. Before that, she spent more than a decade at AXA Group, where she ultimately become head of finance, planning and analysis and head of treasury.

Bourgon received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and statistics from University of Western Ontario and a post-graduate diploma of business administration in management accounting and business from Sir Wilfrid Laurier University.
