Scenario
Building a foundation for the next stage of growth
A national multifamily property management company, Apartment Management Consultants (AMC), was preparing for continued growth across a large portfolio of properties. Leadership wanted employees across property and corporate teams to work from a consistent digital environment and provide decision-makers with better access to operational information.
Existing technology platforms limited collaboration, created barriers to data access and reduced visibility across the business. AMC chose to modernize the workplace and strengthen access to operational data. The goal was to enable reliable communication and faster decision-making across the business.
Approach
Modernizing the workplace with Microsoft
Grant Thornton led an enterprise transformation program focused on Microsoft 365 and analytics modernization. The team migrated AMC from its legacy email environment to Microsoft 365, deploying Outlook, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive while supporting change management, user training, device enrollment, implementation services and ongoing managed support. As part of the transformation, approximately 3,500 employees received Microsoft 365 identities and enterprise email accounts.
The engagement also addressed how AMC used business data. Grant Thornton built a centralized analytics environment using Microsoft 365 that brought together information from multiple systems into a consistent reporting platform. The team tailored training, communications and reporting capabilities to align with the client's operating model and workplace culture, helping accelerate adoption across the organization.
Result
A more connected and data-driven organization
AMC established a modern digital workplace that connected employees across properties and corporate functions through Microsoft 365 collaboration tools. Leaders gained access to a centralized analytics environment that improved visibility into operational and property performance data.
AMC deployed over 20 Power BI dashboards within a centralized analytics hub, providing hundreds of employees with access to insights and trends that were previously unavailable. AMC also implemented digital workflows for employee support and operational requests, eliminating more than 10,000 paper forms. Together, the platform now positions AMC to expand its use of analytics, automation and Microsoft Copilot.
