U.S. and global perspectives on OBBBA and tariffs

The effects of the OBBBA and the new emphasis on tariffs on the U.S. and global economies is difficult to overstate. The OBBBA is a done deal, but so much about what it says and how companies should react is uncertain and open to interpretation. With tariff announcements seemingly coming each day, tax decisions based on them must be made with an understanding of how circumstances can change with little notice.

Four Grant Thornton advisors, David Sites, Storme Sixeas, Colin Wilhelm and Peter Vale, have been closely monitoring these developments and how they will impact tax decisions for domestic and multinational businesses. Their conversation provides insights on the future of U.S. tax law, how the global community is reacting and how it’s likely to respond.
