Scott is the international tax and transfer pricing practice leader for Grant Thornton's Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Arlington offices. Scott’s full-service international tax and transfer pricing practice consists of degreed and licensed certified public accountants and attorneys within complementary focus areas of accounting, law, and economics in delivering comprehensive, practical, and solution-oriented international tax services for all types of domestic and foreign taxpayers including corporations, partnerships, individuals, trusts, and not-for-profit entities.

With over 15 years of public accounting experience, Scott and his team offer practical, valuable, and effective international tax services for the following:

  • GILTI, BEAT, and FDII planning;
  • Cash repatriation strategies;
  • Global effective tax rate planning;
  • Migrations of intangible property;
  • Tax-optimized supply chain structuring;
  • International restructurings;
  • Foreign tax credit and subpart F income planning;

Previously, he held a position within the International Tax practice at a “Big 4” Accounting firm in Philadelphia.

 

Professional qualifications and memberships

  • Scott is a licensed attorney of the Pennsylvania State Bar and a member of the Tax Section of the American Bar Association.
     

Presentations and publications

  • Scott has spoken on various international tax topics at tax seminar events hosted by Tax Executives Institute, BNA|Bloomberg, the Pennsylvania Institute for CPAs, and others. He also served as the co-chairman of the Introduction and Intermediate Seminars on International Tax hosted by BNA|Bloomberg’s Council for International Tax Education held in Philadelphia. Scott published an article in the Pennsylvania CPA Journal regarding international tax considerations for small U.S. businesses as well as contributed to an article in The Tax Advisor regarding certain international tax aspects of research and development expenditures.
     

Education

  • Scott earned his LL.M in Taxation from Villanova University. He received his J.D. and M.B.A. from Temple University. He received a B.A. degree in Business Legal Studies (Magna Cum Laude) also from Temple University.
