The long-running awards recognize innovation and excellence in Human Capital Management
CHICAGO — Grant Thornton LLP, one of America’s largest audit, tax and advisory firms, won gold in the category of Best Unique or Innovative Leadership program at the Brandon Hall Group Excellence Awards.
The firm earned this honor for its Market Mover program, which helps Grant Thornton’s partners, principals and client executives refine and enhance their approach to building relationships across corporate boards and the C-suite. This program intentionally limits traditional teaching, instead allowing partners and principals to learn in real-time in front of industry executives who provide immediate feedback. As a result, Market Mover also helps firm leaders demonstrate the full value of Grant Thornton’s products and services.
Mike Monahan, Grant Thornton’s national managing principal of People & Community, says the award is a testament to the firm’s people-first approach to business and learning.
“This program combines innovative leadership and mindset development with a real-time market impact,” Monahan said. “Grant Thornton has a profound ability to grow both our leaders and our business across offices and industries, and that ability is the centerpiece of our Market Mover program.”
Additionally, Wendy Wright, the firm’s senior director of Learning & Organizational Effectiveness, is humbled that Brandon Hall Group has honored a program she helped implement.
“Client service will always be about relationships, and Grant Thornton is committed to helping our colleagues further elevate every facet of their relationship-building skills,” Wright said. “Earning recognition from the Brandon Hall Group is an exciting endorsement of our ongoing efforts, and this award gives us even more momentum as we continuously support, care for, and equip all of our leaders.”
Brandon Hall Group’s Excellence Awards are the longest-running honors in Human Capital Management (HCM), and its 2022 honorees were selected by a panel of industry experts, analysts and executives. When judging the contenders, the panel focused on criteria like program design, functionality, innovation, measurable benefits, and how effectively the program responds to a need.
“Our award winners demonstrate the vision, agility and innovation needed to excel in the hybrid work environment,” said Mike Cooke, chief executive officer of Brandon Hall Group.
According to Monahan, the hybrid work environment makes programs like Market Mover all the more valuable.
“At Grant Thornton, we want our people to have every opportunity to advance their skills while working from where they are most comfortable,” Monahan concluded. “Learning programs like Market Mover are a direct reflection of that commitment — and our work in this space will only continue.”
