Chris Scarpa is an attorney and tax professional with nearly 30 years of experience. As a principal in Grant Thornton’s Asset Management industry practice, he uses his wealth of knowledge to help the firm’s clients attain their growth goals.


Throughout his career, Chris has largely focused on the taxation of pooled investment vehicles, including mutual funds, exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and real estate mortgage investment conduits (REMICs). He has advised investment companies on compliance requirements associated with the Internal Revenue Code, and he possesses in-depth knowledge of investment-related international tax issues and the taxation of financial products.


Chris has also advised tax-exempt organizations such as healthcare institutions, religious entities, and higher education institutions on a wide variety of complex tax issues.
