Katie Erkkila

Executive summary

Katie Erkkila is an Audit & Assurance partner and the National Professional Practice Director (NPPD) for Grant Thornton’s Central Region.  She works with offices throughout the region on identification and resolution of accounting, auditing and regulatory matters.  Prior to her role as NPPD, Katie was an Audit partner in the Chicago office and served as the professional standards partner for the Midwest.

Experience

Katie has more than twenty-five years of accounting and auditing experience and has been with Grant Thornton for substantially all her career.  In addition to working in the Chicago audit practice, Katie completed a short-term rotation in the firm’s Audit Risk Management group, which is responsible for the firm’s internal inspection program, regulatory inspections and root cause evaluation program.  She also spent two years working for a Chicago based Fortune 500 public company in internal audit.
