Executive summary

Scott has over 25 years’ experience in professional services and accounting.  Throughout his career he has managed business units, led talent acquisition, engaged employees in key strategies to drive growth, strengthened customer relationships, and driven leadership and client development.

Joining Grant Thornton in 2024, Scott is focused on developing client relationships in Atlanta and surrounding markets. Scott will assist the Market Managing Principal in Atlanta driving growth as well as supporting many of the firm’s strategic clients. He enables C-suite leaders to work through solutions to their complex business challenges.  He assesses industry trends, aligns capabilities, and considers implications of regulatory changes on each leader’s objectives.   

Prior to Grant Thornton, he served eight years as a business development executive with a global accounting firm in their National Family Office Enterprise, working with over 500 Family Offices and Ultra High Net Worth Individuals. Additionally, he was responsible for growing the Atlanta market through Transaction Advisory, Audit, and Corporate Taxation in the upper middle market.

Early in his career, Scott was an auditor with one of the Big Four where he received his CPA license. After receiving his license, he spent several years with Zep Chemicals and Oldcastle in CFO and Corporate Controller roles before stepping out of the accounting practioner role into an executive recruiting and business development role with a National Interim CFO firm. Scott was also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Georgia.

Before his professional career began, Scott spent 7 years in the US Navy as a Submarine Nuclear Engineer.
