Rimma Tabakh is currently the U.S. Resident Partner for Grant Thornton China. She is overseeing the execution of audits of US listed companies located in China as well as US companies with significant operations in China and other countries in Asia Pacific. She is also supervising cross-border transactions including initial public offerings of foreign filers. Previously based in the San Francisco office, Rimma has over sixteen years of experience providing audit and advisory services to clients ranging from dynamic privately-held businesses to multi-national listed corporations primarily in the technology and manufacturing industry sectors. Ms. Tabakh has led initial and secondary public offerings, performed due diligence in acquisitions, supervised both domestic and international audits (including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance), overseen various SEC filings, and advised European, American and Asian companies on cross-border and capital raising transactions. She has guided clients through complex accounting issues including conversion of US GAAP to IFRS, revenue recognition, inventory costing, business combinations, lease accounting, and consolidations.
Ms. Tabakh has developed and led several consumer and industrial products and technology industry seminars. She has also taught numerous technical sessions (SEC, revenue recognition, business combinations, and complex equity). Additionally, she has led quality practice reviews of other offices and Grant Thornton International member firms.
Ms. Tabakh is an Audit Committee Chair for two non-for-profit entities. She also led the Women’s Initiative at Grant Thornton’s Bay Area offices prior to moving to China. Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Rimma worked at Arthur Andersen LLP.
Rimma is fluent in English and Russian. She is currently learning Mandarin.
