Joseph H. Loretto

 

 

 

Executive summary

 

Joseph Loretto is an Audit & Assurance partner in the Dallas office and serves as the International Business Center (IBC) director for the U.S. Central region. He is also a member of Grant Thornton’s Partnership Board. Loretto has nearly 25 years of public accounting experience and is responsible for delivering audit and other assurance services to some of the firm’s more complex and larger private and publicly traded entities, including private equity sponsored companies.

 

He provides significant technical capabilities in auditing under PCAOB, U.S. GAAP, and international standards. He has worked on complex U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and SEC reporting matters — as well as IPO, secondary debt and equity offerings, private placements, and mergers and acquisitions. Loretto is also responsible for developing business within the Dallas and Texoma markets and maintaining a large client portfolio in various industries with a focus on technology, manufacturing, and distribution.

 

As the IBC director, Loretto helps oversee cross-border international assignments and supports the firm’s global business strategy. Loretto gained significant international business experience working on Grant Thornton assignments in Brazil (2012 - 2014), China (2006 – 2008), and Australia (2004). During his time abroad, he was responsible for overseeing U.S. engagements, delivering training, providing U.S. technical audit and accounting expertise, leading cross-border work, and advising on strategy.

 

Loretto has a passion for building an inclusive culture through his role as the national executive sponsor for the firm’s Hispanic/Latin(x) business resource group and is a recipient of the Dallas Business Journal’s ‘Leader in Diversity’ award.

Education

 

Loretto holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from The University of Texas at Arlington. He is also a graduate of the Dallas Regional Chamber’s 2022 Leadership Dallas class program, the region’s premier leadership development program. Loretto is fluent in Spanish and conversational in Portuguese.
