Executive summary
Jennifer is the leader of Grant Thornton’s National Higher Education and Not-for-Profit Audit Practice. She joined Grant Thornton in September 2003 after spending seven years at a Big Six firm.
Jennifer has over 25 years of experience serving clients in the Higher Education and Not-for-Profit sector and brings a variety of experience and skills to her clients. Her clients have included foundations, colleges and universities, research institutions, and other prominent national and international organizations. She also serves as the engagement partner and subject matter specialist on many of our not-for-profit clients’ benefit plan engagements. She is a frequent speaker at external industry events, both nationally and locally, as well as at Grant Thornton’s higher education and not-for-profit industry seminars and training sessions. Additionally, Jennifer serves as Grant Thornton’s East Region leader of our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion initiative.
Jennifer is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and NYSSCPA. Jennifer is also active in the community and has served as a participant, mentor and training captain for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training program. Jennifer is the Vice Chair of the Board and Chair of the Audit & Compliance Committee of the Catholic Health Systems Continuing Care Division of Long Island. Jennifer also serves on the Steering Committee of the Long Island Women’s Collaborative and a member of the accounting advisory board at the University at Albany, her Alma Mata. Jennifer is the Chairperson of the AICPA’s Not for Profit Expert Panel and has served on a task force responsible for reviewing and writing the AICPA’s Not-for-Profit Audit Risk Alert and the AICPA’s Not-for-Profit Disclosure Checklist as well as the Not-for-Profit Audit & Accounting Guide. Jennifer was also a member of the AICPA’s Not-for-Profit Revenue Recognition Taskforce. She has been recognized by Long Island Business News as a member of their “Top 50 Most Influential Women in Business”, “Top 40 Under 40” as well as “Who’s Who in Women in Professional Services”. Jen was also honored by the City and State of New York’s Above and Beyond Awards for exemplary leadership and Crain’s New York Notable Women in Accounting.
Jennifer graduated from the University at Albany where she received a B.S. degree in Accounting in 1995.
