The AICPA virtually held the 2020 Conference on Current SEC and PCAOB Developments on December 7-9, featuring representatives from the SEC, PCAOB, FASB, IASB, AICPA, and Center for Audit Quality, along with other stakeholders from the accounting profession.

Key themes shared by speakers and panelists included an emphasis on

• High-quality financial reporting in light of disruptions triggered by COVID-19
• An accelerated rate of change in the financial reporting environment for audit professionals, regulators, and the capital markets, a trend that is expected to continue into 2021
