Mickey Vaja

Executive summary

Mickey Vaja is a principal in the Business Advisory Services practice. Based in Chicago, Vaja has over 12 years IT audit and security experience on a range of platforms, databases and applications (SAP, PeopleSoft and Oracle EBS). He has experience consulting to a variety of industries, including distribution, logistics, manufacturing, consumer industries products and service providers. He has extensive experience in scoping, planning, executing and managing a variety of BAS services, including integrated financial audits, SOX 404 IT readiness, ERP implementation reviews, SAP SOD security audits, and IT application controls testing. Vaja has worked extensively with clients worth up to $8 billion throughout the Midwest region.

Vaja began his career with Trisept Solutions as a systems engineer, and later became involved with the IT security team.  During his tenure with Trisept Solutions he became Microsoft MCSE and Cisco CCNA certified. In 2004, Vaja joined Grant Thornton’s Business Advisory Services practice. He has extensive integrated financial audit experience, working with Grant Thornton’s core Audit Services teams to document and test both IT general controls and application controls.
