Kevin Stombaugh is the national practice leader for the Public Finance practice at Grant Thornton. In this role, Stombaugh oversees the largest public finance practice of any national accounting firm and is responsible for providing escrow cash flow verification, bond yield verification, arbitrage rebate compliance, commercial mortgage loan defeasance, assistance with Form 990-Schedule K, and post-issuance bond compliance to clients across the country. Stombaugh currently serves on the firm’s Not-for-Profit Leadership Council and has also served on the State and Local Fiscal and Sustainability Task Force.
Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Stombaugh worked for an investment bank as an underwriter and as a financial adviser to state and local governments specializing in tax-exempt bonds. Stombaugh has worked with numerous counties, cities, towns, schools, hospitals and special districts with the issuance of many types of tax-exempt and taxable bonds, including general obligation bonds, revenue bonds, lease purchase obligations, certificates of participation and pooled financings.
