Executive summary
Nola is a managing director in Grant Thornton’s Philadelphia office and has over fourteen years of tax experience in public accounting. She has significant experience with complex multinational organizations, working with both public and private corporate clients, helping them to manage their compliance process, implement appropriate tax savings strategies, and manage their tax accounting in order to reduce overall financial statement risk.
Nola oversees all aspects of her tax engagements for her various clients. This includes providing tax planning advice to senior executives to help them prepare, execute and implement the corporation’s tax strategies, directing efforts to identify emerging tax issues and their potential impact on the corporation, and overseeing her engagement teams as they work through federal, state and local, and foreign compliance complexities for her clients. She oversees her teams’ preparation or audit of quarterly and annual income tax provisions for her clients, and assists her clients in identifying, recording, and maintaining, uncertain tax positions.
She has extensive knowledge of accounting for income taxes (i.e. ASC 740) to comply with GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley, and the SEC. She is the Tax Accounting and Audit Quality leader for the Atlantic Coast region of the firm, providing tax accounting and financial reporting technical support for technically complex matters. Being a regularly scheduled feature speaker on Grant Thornton’s Tax Accounting Update national webcasts, she keeps her clients abreast of the many U.S. and global tax legislation changes.
