Erik Shannon leads Grant Thornton’s national Health Care Advisory Services group and has more than 20 years of experience serving health care organizations. Shannon has worked extensively with large health systems, academic medical centers, schools of medicine, integrated health systems, community hospitals, children’s hospitals, physician practices and health plans. As the partner-in-charge of Grant Thornton’s Health Care Advisory Services practice, Shannon is responsible for overseeing its service offerings across the country.
Shannon has led numerous projects that include operational improvement, strategic planning, financial planning and analytics, organizational development/incentive alignment, restructuring and reorganization, mergers and acquisitions planning and integration, revenue cycle solutions, performance management, shared services integration, finance transformation, financial systems implementation, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, internal controls and compliance, physician integration, and practice management. Shannon has also served as interim COO to a large academic medical center. He frequently teaches classes, speaks at various organizations and leads roundtables for CEOs and CFOs around the country.
