Mark is a Managing Director for Grant Thornton LLP and is based in Chicago. With over 20 years of public accounting and management consulting experience, Mark serves his clients through enhancing the operational effectiveness of their corporate tax function. Some of his responsibilities include income tax accounting automation, sales & use tax and compliance process improvements, tax sensitization of ERP systems, implementation of new tax processes and/or technology to deal with ongoing legislative and regulatory changes. For example, Mark has led several large-scale, multi-year finance and tax transformation projects for major global companies.
Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Mark was with PwC for over 13 years, serving as a leader in their financial services advisory practice. He was the Lead Director in charge of 3 global, multi-million dollar joint tax and advisory engagements in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Hong Kong, India, Mexico and Spain.
He has also led several large-scale, global implementations of PeopleSoft and SAP applications, where his team guided finance and tax departments through the transformational impacts and changes that were needed in order to successfully roll out the new general ledger, data warehouse and reporting technologies.
Mark is a subject matter expert for several finance function effectiveness areas including requirements blueprinting, process automation, spreadsheet/report rationalization, data/systems automation and general ledger transformation. He authored several point of views on these topics and presented to senior client executives, engagement leaders and tax/audit leadership conferences.
