Erica O’Malley is the Human Capital Management Practice Leader at Grant Thornton LLP.
Our Human Capital Management Practice works with companies to Attract and engage high performing candidates and employees; Accelerate employees’ performance and development; and Enable success for both the employee and the employer. O’Malley has led the people experience for Grant Thornton LLP working closely with the firm’s leadership on the business imperative of creating and promoting a healthy high performing culture and a more inclusive work environment. She’s a leader in the Clearrly1 Culture Journey and the Women at Grant Thornton Business Resource Group. She was a charter member of both working groups that helped launch both initiatives. Previously, she served as Grant Thornton’s national managing partner of women’s initiatives reporting to the firm’s CEO.
O’Malley is a strong proponent of balancing personal and professional responsibilities, while making significant contributions to the profession. Her leadership has played a key role in Grant Thornton being named to Working Mother magazine’s 100 Best Companies list every year since 2006, as well as the National Association for Female Executives’ list of Top 50 Companies for Executive Women.
O’Malley was instrumental in developing the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Employee Benefit Audit Quality Center, a voluntary membership center for firms that audit employee benefit plans, and served as a founding member of its executive committee for three years.
O’Malley is an elected member of Grant Thornton’s Partnership Board and is a board member of the Northern Illinois University Executive Leadership Forum and a board member of YWCA Metropolitan Chicago.
She was the 2006 winner of the Women to Watch Award — a joint honor presented by the AICPA and the Illinois Certified Public Accountants Society (Illinois CPA Society), recognizing women who have made significant contributions to, and demonstrated leadership in, the accounting profession.
