Tim O’Connor is a managing director in Grant Thornton’s Forensic and Valuation Services practice in Chicago. He is responsible for the development and provision of business and intangible asset valuation and transaction consulting services. O’Connor has more than 18 years of experience encompassing the valuation of business interests, capital stock, financial assets and intellectual property in connection with business combination decision support, financial reporting, corporate and estate tax planning and compliance, shareholder dispute analysis, IT investment analysis, business plan development, and ad valorem tax negotiations.
He has served private and public clients in a wide range of industries, including consumer and industrial products, publishing, automotive components, steel-making and chemical processing, transportation, property insurance, computer software, proprietary trading, wealth management, and telecommunications. Before joining Grant Thornton, O’Connor was a director with PricewaterhouseCoopers’ transaction services accounting and valuation advisory practice. Prior to his career in the valuation profession, O’Connor held positions in computer programming and systems design and engineering consulting.
