Carl Mowery provides various compensation, benefits and HR advice and services to organizations. He has substantial experience in qualified plans and health and welfare benefit plans. Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Mowery co-led the compensation and benefits practice at Smart Business Advisory and Consulting. He has also served as benefits counsel for a Fortune 250 company, general counsel to one of the 50 largest benefit funds in the country, and general benefits counsel to one of the 90 largest benefit funds in the country. He has also served as a resource for a number of articles appearing in Business Week, The Wall Street Journal, Employee Benefit News and other publications, and as a speaker on the tax and financial considerations of health care reform for employers at numerous meetings.
