Heather Karpawich

Executive summary

Heather is a Managing Director in the Philadelphia office of Grant Thornton LLP with over 12 years of auditing and accounting experience.

Heather is an Employee Benefit Plan Practice dedicated Director who has supervised and managed the performance of numerous employee benefit plan audits for both large and small companies across various industries.  She is experienced in audits of 401(k), 403(b), defined benefit plans and 11-K filings, and also has experience coordinating multiple audits for a single Plan Sponsor as well as coordinating new client transition. Heather has extensive experience in dealing with reporting and disclosure issues related to benefit plans.

In addition, Heather leads annual employee benefit plan audit training delivered in the Philadelphia office.  She annually participants in internal practice reviews and has recently served on the Grant Thornton team responsible for conducting the employee benefit plan audit peer review of a Big Four accounting firm. Her clients include private, publicly held and not-for-profit companies.
