Bridgette Hodges leads the SEC Regulatory Matters group in Grant Thornton’s National Professional Standards Group. She has more than 20 years of experience in financial reporting and compliance combined with operational experience. She focuses on SEC regulatory, financial reporting and compliance issues. Hodges was previously vice president of financial controls and compliance at MeriStar Hospitality Corporation, director of external reporting and corporate accounting at General Dynamics Corporation, vice president of finance at Innovative Technologies in Education and an audit senior at Arthur Andersen.
Hodges’ responsibilities have included compliance with GAAP and SEC rules and regulations, including corporate-wide application of new accounting pronouncements, SEC regulatory filings, and corporate governance matters. At MeriStar, she also assisted in the launch of an internal audit function and their Section 404 compliance program. She has experience in M&A and disposition activities, including due diligence work and technical application of appropriate GAAP rules. She has solid operational experience, having established and managed the corporatewide functions of administration, accounting, treasury and human resources while employed by the educational software company.
