Trent Gazzaway is the national managing partner of Quality and Innovation for Audit Services and a member of the firm’s Senior Leadership Team. His experience includes auditing public and private companies, and assisting companies in improving and evaluating internal control systems. Gazzaway previously served as the firm’s national managing partner of public policy and corporate governance. In addition to his audit experience, he routinely collaborates with members of Congress, regulators and key policy groups to help shape public policy that affects the accounting profession, investors, businesses and the capital markets.
Gazzaway is one of four steering committee chairmen who led the development of the Open Compliance and Ethics Group’s framework for integrating governance, risk management and compliance into business processes (www.oceg.org). He also led the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission (COSO) project team in developing guidance on the effective monitoring of internal controls (www.coso.org). Completed in 2009, the project was designed to make dramatic improvements in the efficiency and effectiveness of the internal control evaluation process.
