Jamie Fowler is the chief transformation officer at Grant Thornton LLP and a member of the firm’s Senior Leadership Team.
As the leader of Enterprise Transformation at Grant Thornton, Fowler works with a world-class team of more than 8,500 professionals who inspire and challenge her every day. Together, they bring the best advice and insight available to their clients by combining strong tax technical, accounting regulatory and advisory expertise with automation, data analytics and other cutting-edge technologies to address real business problems.
An accomplished change agent and transformational leader within the public accounting sector, Fowler has more than 35 years of experience leading large-scale organizational structuring for clients worldwide. Her job has taken her to interesting places, from Silicon Valley (where she discussed alliances with tech companies) to Bangalore, India (where she established the firm’s shared services center) to Capitol Hill (where she met with members of Congress and their staffers working on legislation). Most often, she can be found connecting with the firm’s clients and people in Grant Thornton offices across the country.
Fowler boasts experience in a range of areas, including: transformational leadership; strategy formulation; P&L operations; international business; governmental affairs; public policy; and supply chain optimization. She is also a frequent public speaker and prolific writer who focuses on being a change agent.
Fowler previously served as the national managing partner of Tax Services at Grant Thornton. Before that, she was the managing partner for the Atlantic Coast Territory, overseeing all service lines for the territory, and the office managing partner for our Washington, DC area. Fowler has held a number of service line, geography and industry leadership roles at Grant Thornton, including principal architect of the Grant Thornton Shared Services Center in Bangalore, India. Prior to joining Grant Thornton in 2003, Fowler served in leadership roles for KPMG in Atlanta, Dallas and New York, where she was tax partner in charge of transportation for North America.
Among many volunteer leadership commitments, Fowler serves on the executive committee of the Manhattan Theatre Club -- and serves as its secretary.
