Collette Cummins is a managing director in Grant Thornton’s National Professional Standards Group. She has more than 13 years of experience in auditing and financial reporting. She is involved in the development of the firm’s audit methodology, audit tools and related training and communications. Cummins also has extensive experience working with audit teams on complex sampling issues and she provided input for the 2012 update to the AICPA Audit Sampling Guide. She is the audit methodologies liaison with the financial services industry group on banking, broker-dealer and Department of Housing & Urban Development issues, as well as the not-for-profit industry group.
Immediately prior to joining Grant Thornton, Cummins was the director of financial reporting for Safety-Kleen, a leading provider of environmental services, oil re-refining and responsible waste management. Prior to her time at Safety-Kleen, she worked in Grant Thornton’s Dallas office managing audit engagements of commercial and manufacturing companies. She was also responsible for local training for audit methodology and applications.
