Stephen Bridges serves as a Managing Director in Grant Thornton’s Advisory team in Chicago. His main focus is on client relations within the company’s Key Accounts program, but he is also involved on Public Policy issues such as Transatlantic and Transpacific trade issues and Brexit.
Prior to joining Grant Thornton in 2017 Stephen had 3 decades experience as a British Diplomat, including as UK Ambassador to Cambodia and the UK’s Acting/Deputy High Commissioner to Bangladesh. Most recently Stephen served as UK Consul-General based in Chicago where he was responsible for leading the UK’s political, commercial, security and economic relations across 14 States. In this role he was also appointed as the UK Government’s senior relationship manager for several major US Corporations.
Stephen was also formerly a renewable energy entrepreneur. And he holds an international relations degree from University of London, a MA in Asia Pacific Studies from University of Leeds and a PhD from University of Birmingham.

Stephen was made a Lieutenant of the Victorian Order by HM Queen Elizabeth II.
