Ben Brandes is a director in Grant Thornton’s National Private Equity Services group, with responsibility for driving service quality and business growth across the private equity sector. Brandes is also a key relationship leader on several of the firms’ priority private equity clients. In this role, he works closely with a dedicated team of service professionals across Grant Thornton’s audit, tax and consulting services practices, focusing on the needs of private equity funds and private equity-backed companies. He has served on the boards of numerous private companies, including Smart City Networks, U.S. Cable and New York Press.
Brandes has more than 19 years of experience as a private equity manager, transaction specialist and strategic adviser. He has led successful new business development and investment efforts, completed over $1 billion in transactions as a lead investor and has served clients in a wide range of industries, including entertainment and media, telecommunications, health care services and real estate. Brandes is also a frequent presenter and panel participant at various conferences, trade shows and seminars.
