Meet Debasish Chakrabarti, Director at Grant Thornton’s Houston office
Debasish Chakrabarti is a State and Local Tax (SALT) director in Grant Thornton's Houston office. Debasish is a specialist in income and franchise taxes and recently joined Grant Thornton from PWC.
Debasish has experience with tax compliance, planning, consulting, and mergers and acquisitions from an income tax perspective. His specialty is state and local taxation in Texas and Louisiana and has served clients in a variety of industries, including manufacturing and service companies to financial institutions and private equity. He has also served a wide variety of clients, ranging from small, family partnerships to complex Fortune 100 companies.
Debasish earned a bachelor of science in business administration from the University of Illinois and a juris doctor from Georgetown University. Debasish has been a speaker at several Tax Executives Institute conferences, most recently in 2018.
