Sep. 20: Matthew Melinson, Partner, SALT, and Drew VandenBrul, Managing Director, SALT --both from the Philadelphia office, participated in a presentation at NESTOA that became the basis of a State Tax Today article, “States should modernize codes before tackling conformity, panelists say.” Matthew and Drew discuss the SALT impact of federal tax reform.

Tax professionals Meet Seth O’Hara, a SALT Partner at Grant Thornton’s Atlanta office

Seth O'Hara is a State and Local Tax partner in Grant Thornton's Atlanta office. Seth has more than 11 years of state and local tax experience. He specializes in tax compliance/outsourcing, return automation and tax software, and he has extensive knowledge of the use of technology for tax purposes.

Seth has executed or managed more than 35 tax technology projects for sales, use, communication and value-added tax. He has assisted clients in nexus studies, gap analyses, audit defenses, overpayment reviews and tax reserve calculations. His clients include companies in the finance, manufacturing, oil and gas, technology, telecommunications and retail industries.

Seth earned a bachelor's degree in business accounting from Kennesaw State University, following that with a master's degree in accounting, also from Kennesaw State. He is a certified public accountant with a Georgia CPA license and is a member of the AICPA, the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Institute for Professionals in Taxation.
