Public Sector earns three national communications awards for work with Office of Rural Health

As part of the U.S. Department of Veterans affairs transformation, Grant Thornton was brought in to establish a communication division for the Office of Rural Health which improves the health and well-being of the 5.2 million rural veterans by increasing their access to care and services.

After conducting product and online brand assessments and stakeholder interviews, the team established a communications philosophy and plan for the national program office. The communication efforts focused on enabling partners to increase support of rural veterans, with a focus on building healthy communities. Communications products developed included vision and mission statements, logo, radio spot, brochure, annual report, fact sheets, and white papers, as well as media training and relations support. Within one year, the communications efforts reached more than 30 million Americans and earned three national awards.

The Caring for Rural Veterans video earned Veterans Health Administration’s 2015 first place video award and the national Videographer Award of distinction for government videos out of 1,300+ entries.
